How important is displaying your USDOT regulation numbers outside of your commercial vehicle? Marking your commercial vehicle correctly is one of the most important things to do when you are driving commercially. You want to avoid displaying your regulations numbers with a marker especially if you have bad penmanship. Not only does it look bad, imagine the impression you will leave with your business partners. Do you need to display your USDOT, MC, GVW, CA, KYU or any other regulation number outside of your commercial vehicle? Shop one of our custom products.  But remember, your USDOT number must be displayed on both sides of your vehicle. It must be at least 2 inches in height and must be visible from a distance of at least 50 feet away. The color must contrast with the color of your vehicle.     

We have seen many truckers displaying their USDOT, GVW, MC, CA, KYU or other regulation numbers vertically and this is not DOT compliant. You must display your USDOT number horizontally in this format “USDOT 123456 CA”. This is more crucial if you have to display more information that just a USDOT number.
